Alba Pino

Alba Pino (Pontevedra, España, 26/03/1991) reside durante los primeros 18 años de su vida en Cangas, Galicia. Estudia Comunicación Audiovisual en la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela para después diplomarse en dirección cinematográfica en el Instituto del Cine de Madrid. Es la fundadora de Maria Films, desde donde comienza a escribir, dirigir y producir sus propios cortos de ficción. En su filmografía cuenta con más de quince cortometrajes; entre ellos, destacan «Libélulas» (2018), «Clara» (2019), seleccionados en festivales de todo el mundo, «Fin de (algo)» (Ganador del Premio Rueda con Rueda en SEMINCI 2020) y «Noviembre, 1998» (2017, premio en el Festival de Almería). Paralelamente, realiza pequeñas piezas audiovisuales, como «A mi manera» (2018) o «Y amén» (2018), para dar visibilidad a patologías y enfermedades como la bulimia, «Madrid, Madrid, Madrid» (Premio FilM Madrid de la Semana del Cortometraje de Madrid 2017 a mejor Microvídeo) o «Micro» (Premio Film Madrid Semana del Cortometraje de Madrid 2017 a mejor cortometraje). Ha dado conferencias en diversas entidades, como la universidad Carlos III o la Cineteca de Madrid, hablando de la violencia de género en el audiovisual y de su trayectoria. En 2021 escribe su primer libro sobre cine, «Al menos no llueve» (2021, Editorial DNX) y continúa desarrollando su primer largometraje y más cortometrajes.

She studied Audiovisual Communication at the University of Santiago de Compostela and then gratuated in Film Directing at the Instituto del Cine of Madrid. She founded production company Matria Films and began writing, directing and producing her own short fiction films, more than 15 by now -among them, stand out “Libélulas” (2018) and “Clara” (2019), selected in festivals worldwide, “Fin de (algo)” (winner of the Rueda con Rueda Award at SEMINCI 2020) and “Noviembre, 1998” (2017, awarded at the Almería Film Festival). In parallel, she makes small audiovisual pieces, such as “A mi manera” (2018) or “Y amén” (2018), giving visibility to pathologies and diseases, such as bulimia; “Madrid, Madrid, Madrid” (Film Madrid Award at Short Film Week Madrid 2017 for best Microvídeo) or “Micro” (Film Madrid Award at Short Film Week Madrid 2017 for best short film). She has given lectures in various entities, such as the Carlos III University or the Cineteca of Madrid, talking about gender violence in the audiovisual and her career. In 2021 she wrote her first book about cinema, “Al menos no llueve” (Editorial DNX) and she is currently developing her first feature film and more short films.
