Sinopsis / Synopsis
Existe un lugar sentenciado por el ocio, construido para el entretenimiento del turista, diseñado con altos rascacielos y luces de neón para que la experiencia sea inolvidable: Benidorm, esa ciudad de modernidad nostálgica. El Dúo Loan la conoce bien, pues llevan 30 años trabajando en escenarios de hoteles cantando para sus clientes. Ellos son los que de verdad pueden desentrañar un mapa de su evolución y de su irremediable decadencia a través del menosprecio a su labor.
There is a place doomed for leisure, built for tourist entertainment, designed with tall skyscrapers and neon lights to make the experience unforgettable: Benidorm, that city of nostalgic modernity. The Loan Duo knows it well, since they have been working in hotel places for 30 years singing for their clients. They are the ones who can truly unravel a map of their evolution and their irremediable decline through contempt for their work.
Director
Raquel Agea (Benidorm, España, 21/12/1993). Cineasta y fotógrafa. Estudió Comunicación Audiovisual en la Universidad de Murcia y se trasladó a Madrid para especializarse en dirección de arte cinematográfica y escenografía. Se dedica a grabar proyectos de vídeo intimistas y de corte documental. Además, sus fotografías artísticas se han exhibido en festivales de fotografía nacionales e internacionales. Su primer cortometraje documental, «Heridas contra el olvido» (2018), ha sido seleccionada en numerosos festivales y recibido galardones como el Premio Solidario e IBAFF joven en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Murcia IBAFF o el premio a mejor cortometraje documental en el Festival Cortada de Vitoria. «Beni nunca dorm» es su segundo trabajo como directora.
Raquel Agea (Benidorm, Spain, 12/21/1993). Filmmaker and photographer. She studied Audiovisual Communication at the University of Murcia and moved to Madrid to specialize in cinematographic art direction and set design. She is dedicated to recording intimate and documentary video projects. In addition, her artistic photographs have been exhibited at national and international photography festivals. Her first documentary short film, “Wounds against oblivion” (2018), was selected in numerous festivals, receiving awards such as the Solidarity Award and Young IBAFF at the Murcia International Film Festival IBAFF or the award for best documentary short film at the Festival Cortada Vitoria. “Beni never dorm” is her second short film as a director.
