Hugo Cobo (Barcelona, España, 26/12/1980) es director, guionista y productor cinematográfico. Fundador y director de Fantboi (Sant Boi Fantastic Film Festival), ha contribuido a consolidar el certamen como uno de los festivales emergentes de referencia para el cine fantástico independiente en España, apostando por nuevas voces y propuestas arriesgadas dentro del género. Paralelamente a su carrera como cineasta, impulsa BENA, un nuevo sello cinematográfico creado junto a otros cineastas independientes con el objetivo de fomentar la producción, distribución y visibilidad del cine de autor e independiente en España. Su filmografía, dentro del género fantástico, el terror y el thriller psicológico, se caracteriza por una constante exploración de la psicología humana, los mecanismos del miedo y las contradicciones de la sociedad contemporánea. Sus obras abordan cuestiones sociales y morales desde una perspectiva crítica, utilizando el género como herramienta de reflexión y análisis. «Érebos» es su tercer largometraje, después de «Apóstata» (2019) y «Cautivos» (2018).

As the founder and director of Fantboi (Sant Boi Fantastic Film Festival), he has contributed to establishing the event as one of Spain’s leading emerging festivals for independent fantastic cinema, championing new voices and daring proposals within the genre. Alongside his filmmaking career, he is also promoting BENA, a new film label created together with other independent filmmakers with the aim of fostering the production, distribution, and visibility of auteur and independent cinema in Spain. Working within the fields of fantasy, horror, and psychological thriller, his filmography is characterized by a constant exploration of human psychology, the mechanisms of fear, and the contradictions of contemporary society. His works address social and moral issues from a critical perspective, using genre cinema as a tool for reflection and analysis. “Erebos” is his third feature film, following “Apostate” (2019) and “Captives” (2018).
