Hugo de la Riva (Alcázar de San Juan, Ciudad Real, España, 03/07/1983). Desde muy pequeño encuentra en el cine el conjunto de herramientas perfectas con las que poder narrar historias. Tras muchos dibujos, pinturas, esculturas y cómics, viaja a Madrid, donde completa su formación como profesional de la iluminación, captación y tratamiento de la imagen. Aprende cine de forma autodidacta, viendo películas, leyendo libros y rodando cortometrajes de producción propia. «El Abducido» (2008) y «Blondi, el perro de Hitler» (2012) son sus primeros proyectos de envergadura, con los que aprende a desenvolverse en rodajes complejos y ambiciosos. Le siguen «Campeón» (2015), «Tarde de pesca» (2017), «Sancho» (2019) y «Mira» (2021), con los que consigue numerosos premios y selecciones por todo el mundo y lo sitúan como uno de los cineastas manchegos con más proyección. «Mañana volveré» es su séptimo cortometraje como director.

After many drawings, paintings, sculptures and comics, he travels to Madrid where he completes his training as a lighting, capturing and image treatment professional. He learned Cinema in a self-taught way, watching movies, reading books and shooting short films of his own production. “El Abducido” (2008) and “Blondi, Hitler’s dog” (2012) are his first major projects with which he learns to cope with complex and ambitious shootings. After these he shot “Champion” (2015), “Fishing Afternoon” (2017), “Sancho” (2019) and “Look” (2021). His films get numerous selections and awards worldwide and place him as one of the Manchego filmmakers with more projection. “Tomorrow I’ll be back” is his seventh short film as a director.
