Mariana Hormiga (Mariana Ant)

Maite Uzal (Madrid, España, 05/01/1984) es actriz y cantante con formación en interpretación, canto y danza en la American Musical and Dramatic Academy de Nueva York. Entre sus créditos neoyorquinos en inglés destacan «In The Heights», «Muerte de un viajante» y «Tío Vanya». Ha trabajado en cine en múltiples cortometrajes y en los largometrajes «Nana» y «Little Galicia». Es productora del proyecto «I Am Warrior» y cocreadora, productora y protagonista de la serie infantil bilingüe «Trash Bash / Basura Aventura». Ha obtenido el premio HOLA a mejor actriz y el premio ACE a mejor actriz de época por el papel de Semíramis en «La Gran Semíramis» en Repertorio Español en Nueva York. También ha interpretado el papel de Golde en la gira norteamericana de la producción de Broadway de «El violinista en el tejado» dirigida por Bartlett Sher. También es licenciada en Derecho y Relaciones Internacionales y Máster en Humanidades. «Mariana Hormiga» es su primer cortometraje como directora.

Maite Uzal (Madrid, Spain, 01/05/1984) is an actress and singer. She graduated from the Musical Theatre Conservatory Program at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (NYC). NYC credits include “In the Heights”, “Death of a Salesman” and “Uncle Vanya”. In film, she has acted in several short films and the features “Nana” and “Little Galicia”. Maite is a producer of the project “I Am Warrior” and she has originated the character Maite for the bilingual children’s TV show “Trash Bash”, where she also co-produces and composes. She has played the role of Semíramis at Repertorio Español, for which she earned a Latin ACE Award and an HOLA Award. She could also be seen as Golde in the 1st North American National Tour of “Fiddler on the Roof” directed by Bartlett Sher. She has a degree in Law and International Relations as well as a Masters Degree in Humanities. “Mariana Ant” is her first short film as a director.

Rubén Pascual Tardío (Madrid, España, 27/05/1994) es guionista, director y editor de cine, publicidad y videoclips. Estudia Dirección, Guion, Montaje y Postproducción para Cine y TV en el Instituto del Cine de Madrid, simultaneando su formación con trabajos de ayudante de dirección y director de producción en cortometrajes, series, largometrajes y spots publicitarios. Ha trabajado como analista de guion y ha vendido dos de sus largometrajes («M.A.D.R.E.S.» y «Carlota») para producción. Ha dirigido spots publicitarios (ALSA, PSOE) y múltiples cortometrajes que han cosechado más de una treintena de premios en festivales (entre otros, los European Cinematography Awards o el Desafío Buñuel). Como editor, destaca su trabajo en videoclips (Ángela Carrasco, WAOR, Pavel Núñez) y documentales («Más allá de las olas», largo documental apadrinado por UNESCO). Después de «Adiós, Susana» (2020), «Es Navidad» (2019), «Sobre ruedas» (2018), «El malvado monstruo» (2017) y «Azul oscuro tirando a rojo» (2016), «Mariana Hormiga» es su sexto cortometraje como director.

Rubén Pascual Tardío (Madrid, Spain, 05/27/1994) is a film and TV scriptwriter, director and editor. He studies Direction, Film, Edition and Postproduction for Film and TV at the Film Institute of Madrid and works as an AD and production manager in short films, TV series and commercials. He has also been hired as a script doctor and sold some of his own works as a script writer (“M.A.D.R.E.S.” and “Carlota”). He has directed commercials (ALSA, PSOE) and multiple short films that have won more than thirty awards at festivals (among others, the European Cinematography Awards or Desafío Buñuel). Highlights in his work as an editor include music videos (Ángela Carrasco, WAOR, Pavel Núñez) and documentaries (“Beyond the Waves” documentary feature sponsored by UNESCO). After “Goodbye Susana” (2020), “It’s Christmas” (2019), “On Wheels” (2018), “The Evil Monster” (2017) and “Dark blue turning red” (2016), “Mariana Ant” is his sixth short film as a director.
