Raúl Monge

Raúl Monge (Madrid, España, 29/05/1978) es director de publicidad y diseñador para proyectos cinematográficos. Sus primeros pasos como diseñador y storyboard artist los dio junto a Guillermo del Toro en «El laberinto del Fauno», para trabajar después con otros directores como Alejandro Amenábar o Jim Jarmusch. Junto al director mexicano repitió experiencia en «Hellboy II» y «Pacific Rim». En 2019 estrenó su primer cortometraje, «Hopes», con el que ganó el Méliès de Plata y el Festival Nocturna, entre otros. En 2021 dirigió «Apología de Extrarradio» y en 2023, «La Ley del Más Fuerte». Desde el estreno en el Festival de Sitges de este último, cosechó más de 30 premios en grandes festivales como Medina del Campo, FANT Bilbao, FESCILA o Sax, y formó parte de la shortlist de los Goya 2025. «La pérdida» es su cuarto cortometraje como director.

Raúl Monge (Madrid, Spain, 05/29/1978) is an advertising director and designer for film projects. He took his first steps as a designer and storyboard artist alongside Guillermo del Toro in “Pan’s Labyrinth”, and later worked with other directors such as Alejandro Amenábar and Jim Jarmusch. He repeated the experience with the Mexican director in “Hellboy” II and “Pacific Rim”. He directed his first short film, “Hopes”, in 2019, with which he won the Silver Méliès and the Nocturna Film Festival, among others. He also directed the short films “Apología de Extrarradio” (2021) and “La Ley del Más Fuerte” (2023). This latest short premiered at Sitges Film Festival and won more than 30 awards in big festivals like Medina Film Festival, FANT Bilbao, FESCILA or Sax, and it was shortlisted for the 2025 Goya Awards of the Spanish Film Academy. “The Loss” is his fourth short film as a director.
