In his films, music videos and new media projects, he combines exotic locations, stunning cinematography and visual effects to tell heartfelt stories about ecological, humanitarian and inspirational subjects. Sil’s recent works brought attention to topics like deforestation, overconsumption, global warming, and the plastic soup, and collected many awards & recognitions. He studied Fine Arts in Arnhem, the Netherlands and Visual Effects in Hollywood. In 2019, Sil co-founded Studio Birthplace, a studio that focuses solely on ecological topics and a sustainable future for our planet. He has directed several music videos, installations and created “Jungle Heroes”, a mobile game. “Broken Wings” (2023) is his twelfth work as a director at Studio Birthplace, after “Wear Wool, Not Fossil Fuel” (2022), “Wasteminster” (2021), “Humanity’s Impact” (2021), three part mini-series “Dangerous Lies” (2021), “Sleepless” (2019), “Birthplace” (2018),“Those Who Have Reindeer” (2018), “Terraform” (2017), “Epoch” (2017), “Mantra” (2016) and “Requiem 2019” (2012).
