Iqbal Mohammed (Huddersfield, Reino Unido, 11/09/1984) empezó a escribir para liberarse de su estresante vida cotidiana. En febrero de 2011, Iqbal escribió su primer guion para un largometraje, «Deut 31.6», un thriller de acción que quedó finalista en el prestigioso concurso de guiones de Hollywood PAGE International Screenwriting Competition. En septiembre de 2011, fue productor ejecutivo del cortometraje «The Pharmacist». Desde entonces ha escrito varios cortometrajes. Su último corto, «Three Minute Warning», se proyectó en más de treinta festivales de todo el mundo, incluido el calificador de Óscar Urbanworld de Nueva York. La película también fue seleccionada como parte de la muestra de la Red BFI (British Film Institute) en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Bolton en 2019, donde se proyectó con otros cortometrajes que fueron financiados por el BFI. Iqbal disfruta abordando historias que se centran en cuestiones sociales y, como cineasta, cree que es su deber producir películas que permitan al público reflexionar sobre situaciones difíciles. Ha sido seleccionado como director y guionista en el Talent Lab del Edinburgh International Film Festival 2021. Ahora está desarrollando su primer largometraje con ENON Films y Rendition Films. «Tasbeeh», apoyado por la BFI Network, es su cuarto cortometraje como director, después de «Three Minute Warning» (2016), «Revisited» (2014) y «Against the Norm» (2012).

Iqbal Mohammed (Huddersfield, United Kingdom, 09/11/1984) started writing as a release from his stressful day to day life. In February 2011, Iqbal wrote his first feature film script, “Deut 31.6”, an action thriller that became a finalist in the prestigious Hollywood PAGE International Screenwriting Competition. In September 2011, he was the Executive Producer to the short film “The Pharmacist”. He has since written a number of short films. His last short “Three Minute Warning” played in over 30 film festivals worldwide, including Oscar Qualifying film festival Urbanworld, New York. The film was also selected as part of the BFI Network showcase at the Bolton International Film Festival in 2019 where it was screened with other short films that were BFI funded. Iqbal enjoys tackling stories that focus on societal issues and as a filmmaker, believes it’s his duty to produce films that allow the audience to ponder on difficult situations. As a writer and director, he has been selected for the Edinburgh International Film Festival Talent Lab 2021. He is now developing his debut feature film with ENON Films and Rendition Films. “Tasbeeh”, which is being supported by the BFI Network, is his fourth short film as a director, after “Three Minute Warning” (2016), Revisited” (2014) and “Against the Norm” (2012).
