Sinopsis / Synopsis

En una casa en Denia, Pablete y Cristian pasan solos el verano tras la repentina enfermedad de su madre. Mientras el mayor intenta cuidar del pequeño, ambos lidian con el vacío y la ausencia de respuestas. En una mezcla de realismo y ensoñación, emprenden una búsqueda que los lleva hasta el mar, donde realidad y deseo se confunden. Mamá no se ha ido, pero ya no está.

In a house in Denia, Pablete and Cristian spend the summer alone after the sudden illness of their mother. While the older one tries to take care of the younger, both struggle with the emptiness and the lack of answers. Blending realism and dreamlike elements, they embark on a search that leads them to the sea, where reality and desire begin to blur. Their mother hasn’t left, but she is no longer there.

Director

Rafael Martínez Calle (Córdoba, España, 30/10/1997) alterna entre el montaje y la dirección en proyectos de ficción, publicidad y documental. «Crudo» (2022), su primer cortometraje, ganó la Biznaga de Plata a la mejor dirección en la Sección Oficial de Cortometrajes del 25 Festival de Málaga. «Velar» (2023), su segundo proyecto personal, fue seleccionado en festivales como Málaga o Sevilla, y participó en el concurso de cortometrajes de SGAE de Televisión Española. Ha montado documentales como «Esta ambición desmedida» (nominado al Goya a Mejor Documental) o «The Designer is Dead». «Un ruido azul» es su tercer cortometraje como director.

Rafael Martínez Calle (Córdoba, Spain, 10/30/1997) alternates between editing and directing in projects across fiction, advertising, and documentary. “Crudo” (2022), his debut short film, was awarded with the Silver Biznaga for Best Direction in the Official Short Film Section of the 25th Malaga Film Festival. “Vigil” (2023), his second personal project, was selected at festivals such as Málaga and Seville, and took part in the SGAE short film competition on Spanish Television. He has edited documentaries such as “Esta ambición desmedida” (nominated for the Goya Award for Best Documentary) and “The Designer Is Dead.” “A blue noise” is his third short film as a director.
