Arvin Kananian (Estocolmo, Suecia, 07/03/1988) creció en Estocolmo (Suecia) y Yokohama (Japón). Se mudó a Reino Unido para estudiar Derecho, pero allí encontró su vocación por la actuación y comenzó a estudiar los métodos Meisner y Strasberg en escuelas de interpretación en Londres y Estocolmo. Rápidamente se hizo un nombre en el cine y la televisión suecas, haciéndose conocido por sus actuaciones en «Aniara» (2018), «Caliphate» (2020) y «Triangle of Sadness» (2022). Después de muchos años delante de las cámaras, comenzó a escribir y dirigir y así llegó su primer cortometraje, «Affect» (2017). «Vernissage» es su cuarto cortometraje como director, tras «Tomorrow the Birds will Sing» (2018) y «I, Julia» (2020).

Kananian quickly made a name for himself in the Swedish film and TV business, becoming well known for his memorable performances in awarded and acclaimed feature films and TV shows such as “Aniara” (2018), “Caliphate” (2020) and “Triangle of Sadness” (2022). Having worked in front of the camera for several years, Kananian felt increasingly drawn towards filmmaking. He started writing and directing and in 2017 he debuted with his first short film “Affect”. “Vernissage” is his fourth short film as a director, after “Tomorrow the Birds will Sing” (2018) and “I, Julia” (2020).
