Diego Porral Soldevilla (Madrid, España, 30/07/1992). Animador independiente residente en Londres (Reino Unido), donde ha trabajado para estudios como Golden Wolf, The Line, Nexus, etc. Su carrera comienza durante sus años estudiante en la escuela universitaria ESNE (Madrid, España), donde rodó «Back Then» (2016) y «Un día en el parque» (2017), con el que consigue más de 250 selecciones y premios en festivales nacionales e internacionales de primer nivel, una nominación a los Premios Goya 2018 y el Premio Fugaz a mejor corto de animación. En 2018 continúa su formación en la escuela de animación Gobelins (París, Francia), rueda su tercer corto, «Monsters Walking» (2018), y codirige su corto de graduación, «Blind Eye» (2019), seleccionado para los premios BAFTA de estudiantes. Sus cortometrajes se siguen seleccionando en certámenes de todo el mundo. Además de su faceta de director, ha colaborado en la animación de largometrajes como «Buñuel en el laberinto de las tortugas» (Salvador Simó, 2018) y otros cortometrajes («Best Friend», «Hors de l’eau», «The Ostrich Politic», «Homeless Home», «The Vinoks Apatite»). «Leopoldo el del bar» es su quinto cortometraje como director.

His career took off while he was a student at ESNE University school (Madrid, Spain), where he shot “Back Then” (2016) and “Un día en el parque” (2017). The latter has been selected in more than 250 festivals worldwide, nominated to a Goya Award in 2018 and awarded the Premio Fugaz for Best Animated Short Film. In 2018, he moved to Paris (France) to attend the Gobelins school in animation and shot his third short film, “Monsters Walking”. A year later, he co-directed the short film for his graduation project, “Blind Eye” (2019), which was shortlisted for the Student BAFTA’s. His works have been selected in festivals all over the world and they are still being nominated. Not only is he a director, he has collaborated in the animation of long films such as “Buñuel en el laberinto de las tortugas” (Salvador Simó, 2018) and more short films (“Best Friend”, “Hors de l’eau”, “The Ostrich Politic”, “Homeless Home”, “The Vinoks Apatite”). “Leopoldo from the bar” is his fifth short film as a director.
